Face covering mandate extended in Maryville

As COVID-19 cases spike both in Missouri and Nodaway County, the Maryville City Council voted 4 to 1 yesterday to extend the city's face covering ordinance through the end of January 2021.

Councilman Tye Parsons, who has been one of the council's most outspoken members on virus issues, moved to extend the ordinance.

Parsons said Maryville Public Safety might soon start enforcing the mandate with fines.

Mayor Ben Lipiec, who voted against the council's last extension of the mandate, once again voted no.
